Remove/install coolant pump - AR20.10-P-1271CMG

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
1 Switch off ignition    
2 Remove front engine cover and both engine air intake ducts upstream of the air filter NOTES Do not tilt front engine cover, but lift upwards vertically otherwise the retaining lugs can break off.  
3 Remove bottom engine compartment paneling INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Only install lower engine compartment paneling after leak test.  
4 Drain coolant at radiator   AR20.00-P-1142CMG

5 Loosen bolts of belt pulley (2)    
6 Remove poly-V belt (3)   AR13.20-P-0001CMG
7 Detach belt pulley (2) from coolant pump (1) by unscrewing bolts of the belt pulley (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA13.25-P-1002-01U 
8 Detach overflow line from coolant thermostat housing to expansion reservoir for coolant    
9 Remove expansion reservoir of the power steering and set aside with the connected oil lines   AR46.25-P-1000CMG
10 Remove guide pulleys (4, 5) from coolant pump (1)   AR13.20-P-0001CMG
11 Detach coolant hose from the coolant thermostat housing to the radiator and place it to one side INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace O-ring.  
12 Remove guide pulley (6) from timing case cover   AR13.20-P-0001CMG
13 Detach coolant hose (9) on coolant pump (1) IMPORTANT Check the condition of coolant hose and hose clamps and replace if necessary.  
14 Unscrew bolts (7, 8) and detach coolant pump (1) from timing case cover INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Install new gasket  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA20.10-P-1001-01V 
15 Clean sealing surface on timing case cover INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Clean the sealing surface with clean rags; otherwise, leaks can occur.  
16 Clean sealing surface on coolant pump (1) Only when reusing coolant pump (1).  
17 Install in the reverse order    
18 Inspecting cooling system for leaks   AR20.00-P-1010CMG 
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

19 Conduct engine test run and check engine for leaks
