	Remove/install
1	Detach ground line from battery		AR54.10-P-0003EW
2	Remove both air filter housings When removing the left exhaust manifold (1)		AR09.10-P-1150SXI
3	Remove catalytic converter	Remove top bolts and just slacken the bottom bolt; the flange is slotted.	AR49.10-P-5500OGE
4	Remove bottom sections of soundproofing		AR94.30-P-5300EW
5	Remove diesel particulate filter	When removing the right exhaust manifold (2) Replace catalytic converter seal on turbocharger.	AR14.40-P-1000OGE
6	Remove exhaust gas recirculation line (5); to this remove bolts (6)	When removing the left exhaust manifold (1) For engines with turbocharger (14b) with coolant cooling a clamp is installed instead of EGR line (5) bolts (6) on the exhaust collector pipe (8).

7	Remove bolts (7) on exhaust collector pipe (8)		*BA14.10-P-1001-01L

8	Remove expansion reservoir of power steering	When removing the left exhaust manifold (1)
		Model 207	AR46.25-P-1000CO
		Model 212 Place power steering expansion reservoir with attached hose to one side.	AR46.25-P-1000EWO
9	Remove bolts (9, 10) and nut (11) and take off heat shield (12)	Split the heat shield (12). Ensure correct assembly of the heat shield (12).
10	Remove left cylinder head (1) or right cylinder head (2)	Replace self-locking nuts (13). Check stud; replace if required. Clean sealing surfaces and replace gasket. Bring left exhaust manifold (1) into the correct position in order to remove it upwards. Remove right exhaust manifold (2) downwards.

11	Install in the reverse order
12	Read out and erase fault memory using STAR DIAGNOSIS	Stored faults which may be caused by assembly work, test work, removed lines or a simulation, must be processed and erased in fault memories after completing the work.	AD00.00-P-2000-04A
