	Remove/install
1	Remove remote trunk closing control unit	Remove/install remote trunk closing control unit	AR88.50-P-5300EW
2	Slide lock (1) on left and right Bowden cable (2) toward rear (arrow A) and unhook from hinge lever (5) (arrow B)	If the Bowden cable (2) is unhooked from the hinge lever (5) and the trunk lid control drive unit (M51/3) is not replaced, always replace lock (1).
3	Unlock catch hook (4), push left and right transfer bow (3) toward center of vehicle (arrow C) and pivot out downward (arrow D)
4	Loosen rear shelf (10) and lift foam material (11) until bolt (12) is accessible	MODEL 212.0/1 with CODE 881 (Remote trunk closing (RTC [HDFS])) without CODE 810 (Sound system)

6	Expose electrical wiring harness (7) on retaining box cover (6)
7	Unclip catch hook (arrows E) on retaining box cover (6), guide retaining box cover (6) toward rear, unhook bolt (arrow F) from keyhole-shaped opening and remove retaining box cover (6)
8	Remove trunk lid control drive unit (M51/3) with foam material insert (8)	Installation: Position trunk lid control drive unit (M51/3) in foam material insert (8) and then insert into retaining box (9). Ensure that Bowden cables (2) are routed through the intended cutouts (arrows G).
9	Remove trunk lid control drive unit (M51/3) from new retaining box (9)	When replacing trunk lid control drive unit (M51/3). Return removed trunk lid control drive unit (M513) in assembled state with retaining box (9) and retaining box cover (6).
10	Install in the reverse order
