Removing and installing tailgate - AR72.20-P-3500ES

| 3 | Remove rear spoiler | ||
| 4 | Remove rear window (2) | ||
| 5 | Disconnect electrical connectors (8) | ||
| 6 | Remove bulbs with socket from left license plate lamp (E191) and right license plate lamp (E192) | ||
| 7 | Unclip left and right cover (3) above door hinge | ||
| 8 | Unscrew left and right bolt (4) from door hinge | ||
| 9 | Unlock left and right protective tubing (5) first at front shackles (6), unclip then rear shackle (arrow) by turning protective tubing (5) | The shackles (6) can break and the electrical wiring harness (7) must be replaced. |

| 10 | Disconnect all electrical connectors on rear-end door (1) | ||
| 11 | Remove ground line (9) from rear-end door (1) | ||
| 12 | Remove electric wiring harness (7) and associated electrical lines from rear-end door (1) | ||
| 13 | Pull electrical wiring harness (7) and associated electrical lines out of rear-end door (1) | ||
| 14 | Mechanically lock rotary tumbler on liftgate central locking motor (M14/7) with suitable screwdriver | ||
| 15 | Place rag (11) below rear-end door (1) | ||
| 16 | Remove covers above nuts (12) | ||
| 17 | Loosen nuts (12) | ||
| 18 | Remove left and right gas-filled strut (10) | Remove/install gas-operated strut to rear-end door | AR72.20-P-3600CX |
| 19 | Unscrew nuts (12) and remove rear-end door (1) with aid of helper | Check adjustment of rear-end door (1), correct if necessary. ↓ Adjust rear-end door (1). |
