NOTES Cleanliness is essential when working on the transmission.
Otherwise, even the smallest foreign particle in the hydraulic components of the transmission can lead to malfunctions or a total failure of the transmission.
IMPORTANT For cleaning, use lint-free cleaning cloth. Chamois leathers are the most suitable.
3 Remove electrohydraulic controller unit (3)   AR27.19-P-0200EWM
4 Remove oil guide pipes (4) IMPORTANT To do this, remove bolt (5).
5 Remove park pawl actuator (6)   AR27.60-P-0956EWM
6 Remove rear engine mount bearing bracket (7)

11 Remove internal Torx bolts (13, 14) NOTES Position transmission so that it is vertical with the torque converter housing (15) facing downward.
Otherwise, the transmission housing (1) will fall down after removing the last internal Torx bolt (13, 14).

12 Detach transmission housing (1) from torque converter housing (15) using valve lifter (12) SPECIAL TOOL Valve lifter Fig 3
ASSEMBLING Assemble
13 Mount transmission housing (1) onto torque converter housing (15) NOTES Position the transmission housing (1) carefully. Otherwise, the disks in the disk pack may break.
NOTES Never tighten the transmission housing (1) using the internal Torx bolts (13, 14) on the torque converter housing (15).
Otherwise, the disks in the disk pack may break.
IMPORTANT Align disks in transmission housing (1). Push the output flange (8) onto the output shaft (17). By abruptly turning the output shaft (17) while simultaneously lifting the transmission housing (1) the transmission housing (1) gradually slips up to the seal (16) of the torque converter housing (15). The transmission housing (1) must lie completely flush (without gaps) against the seal (16) on the torque converter housing (15) (arrow).

14 Tighten internal Torx bolts (13, 14) IMPORTANT Replace internal Torx bolts (13, 14).
