Remove/install automatic transmission oil pan - AR27.10-P-7030EWM

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Secure vehicle on vehicle lift TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 166, 172, 205, 207, 212, 217, 218, 222  
TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 172 AR00.60-P-0100T
TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 166 AR00.60-P-0100GZ
TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 205, 207 AR00.60-P-0100CW
TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 212, 218 AR00.60-P-0100EWS
2 Detach bracket (38, 39) and place to one side IMPORTANT Unscrew screws/bolts (36, 37) to do this.  
3 Clean oil pan (34) and surrounding area thoroughly    
4 Drain the transmission oil and collect for determining the quantity of transmission IMPORTANT Open bayonet coupling (30) and pry off overflow pipe (31) from the base using a suitable tool. The remaining transmission oil drains out immediately after prying off.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace sealing ring from the bayonet coupling (30).
 
5 Unscrew bolts (1 to 10) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace screws/bolts (1 to 10).
Tighten bolts (1 to 10) of oil pan (34) in numerical sequence.
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, oil pan to transmission housing *BA27.10-P-1010-04H 
6 Remove oil pan (34) from transmission housing (35) IMPORTANT When exchanging oil filter, replace oil pan (34).
Oil filter (32) cannot be obtained individually.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace O-rings on oil filter (32).
 
7 Remove overflow pipe (31) from oil pan (34) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Check overflow pipe (31) for damage, replace, if necessary and press firmly onto base of oil pan (34).  
8 Remove seal (33) INSTALLATION NOTES Do not apply any sealant or sealing compound to oil pan (34) and transmission housing (35). Leaks can occur otherwise.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Always replace seal (33).
 
9 Clean sealing surfaces of oil pan (34) and magnets INSTALLATION NOTES Sealing surfaces must be absolutely free of oil and grease.
Leaks can occur otherwise.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Have the cleaning sprays completely extracted.
 
10 Install in the reverse order    
11 Fill transmission with transmission fluid TRANSMISSION 725.0
with CODE 805 (Model year 2015)
AR27.00-P-0270EWN 
TRANSMISSION 725.0
without CODE 805 (Model year 2015)
NOTES Always follow the work procedure and observe the Specifications for Operating Fluids. Otherwise the transmission may be damaged.

DANGER Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
12 Test run engine and check transmission for leaktightness and proper operation
