Preliminary Work

Remove engine.
→ 100119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE .
Remove rear silencer.
→ 263319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR SILENCER - TURBO .
Remove the engine carrier.
→ 103019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE CARRIER - TURBO .

Remove turbocharger.
→ 213019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TURBOCHARGER .
Remove exhaust manifold. Unscrew nine screws (M8 x 27) on each and remove manifold and seal.
→ 261019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING EXHAUST MANIFOLD - TURBO .
Remove heat shield for ignition coils.
→ 261219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING HEAT SHIELD - TURBO .
Remove bar ignition modules.
→ 282019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING BAR IGNITION MODULE - TURBO
1. 7.1. Pull off cable plugs on bar ignition modules, hall sender and solenoid hydraulic valve (VVS) and unscrew two M6 x 12 cheese head bolts for the ground cables for the bar ignition modules.
2. 7.2. In each case, unscrew one internal Torx (T30) countersunk screw (M6 x 16) and pull ignition coils out of the spark-plug recess.
Remove spark plugs.
→ 287020 REMOVING AND INSTALLING SPARK PLUGS - TURBO .
Remove high-pressure pump.
→ 246319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING HIGH-PRESSURE PUMP - TURBO .
Remove vacuum pump.
→ 477619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING VACUUM PUMP .
Remove cover for positive crankcase ventilation.
1. 11.1. Cover on cylinder bank 1-3 -1- : Unscrew three external Torx screws (M6 x 20) -4- and replace O-ring -3- and molded seal -2- .

2. 11.2. Cover on cylinder bank 4-6 -1- : Unscrew two external Torx screws (M6 x 20) -3- and replace O-ring -2- .

Remove cylinder head cover.
