Preliminary Procedures

Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
Disconnect the shift linkage from the shift control. Refer to Shift Control Linkage Replacement .
Lower the vehicle.
Remove the shift indicator and shift knob assembly. Refer to Transmission Control Lever Knob Replacement (SKY) or Transmission Control Lever Knob Replacement (Solstice) .
Remove the instrument panel center support bracket. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Support Bracket Replacement (SKY) or Instrument Panel Center Support Bracket Replacement (Solstice) .
