Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Identifying Shift Control Linkage & Manual Shift Shaft Nut

  1. Install the shift control linkage (2) to the vehicle.
    2. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  2. Install the manual shift shaft nut (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  3. Connect the shift control linkage rod (2) to the shift control assembly (1).
  4. Adjust the shift control linkage. Refer to Shift Control Linkage Adjustment .
  5. Install the front closeout panel. Refer to Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Automatic Transmission) or Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Manual Transmission) .
  6. Lower the vehicle.
