PR25DD engine: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the camshafts. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  2. Remove spark plugs. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the catalyst using the following procedure:
    1. Remove the catalyst gusset. Refer to Exploded View .
    2. Remove the EGR inlet tube heat shield. Refer to EGR SYSTEM : Exploded View .
    3. Remove the bolts securing the EGR inlet tube to the catalyst. Refer to EGR SYSTEM : Exploded View .
      CAUTION: Do not reuse EGR inlet tube gasket.
    4. Remove the air fuel ratio (A/F) sensor 1 (1) using a suitable tool.
      CAUTION:
      • Do not damage air fuel ratio (A/F) sensor 1.
      • Discard any air fuel ratio (A/F) sensor 1 which has been dropped from a height of more than 0.5 m (19.7 in) onto a hard surface such as a concrete floor; replace with a new one.
    5. Remove the catalyst heat shield. Refer to Exploded View .
      CAUTION: Do not reuse catalyst heat shield bolts.
    6. Loosen catalyst nuts in reverse of the sequence shown.

    7. Remove the catalyst.
      CAUTION: Do not reuse catalyst gasket.
    8. Remove the studs (if necessary).
      CAUTION: Do not reuse studs (if removed).
  4. Remove the water hose from the EGR cooler. Refer to EGR SYSTEM : Exploded View .
  5. Remove water hose C from EGR cooler. Refer to WATER OUTLET : Exploded View .
  6. Remove the EGR cooler bracket bolts and remove the EGR cooler and EGR cooler bracket as an assembly. Refer to EGR SYSTEM : Exploded View .
  7. Loosen the cylinder head bolts in reverse of the order shown.

  8. Remove cylinder head.
  9. Remove cylinder head gasket.
    CAUTION: Do not reuse cylinder head gasket.
