Installing and securing complete front axle
- Remove the seal (1) .
- Clean surface on steering gear.
- Replace the seal (1)

- Position seal (1) and clip it in.

- All specifications must be observed and complied with.
- When lowering and lifting the front subframe, make sure that the torsion bar (1) of the electromechanical steering gear (EPS) in the area (2) does not collide with the cowl!
NOTE:
A collision with the cowl can damage the electromechanical steering gear (EPS)!
- Position front axle support.
- Bend the undershields to the side in the areas (3) .
- Raise front axle support.
- When lifting, insert the charge air cooler into the rubber mount of the charge air cooler on the cross member.
- Replace screws (1)
and (2)

- Tighten down screws (1) .

- Tighten down screws (2) .

| M12 screw Replace screw. | Tightening torque | 108Nm |
- Loosen the special tool 0 496 080 (33 5 206) from the special tool 0 495 817 (31 5 251) .
- Lower universal jack 0 490 133 (00 2 030) with the special tool 0 495 817 (31 5 251) and place it to the side.
NOTE:
Perform the steps on the right and left side.
- Position track rod (2) on swivel bearing.
- Replace nut (1)

- Tighten nut (1) .

Perform the steps on the right and left side.
- Position wishbone (3) on swivel bearing.
- Replace the screw (2)
and the nut (1)

- Insert the screw (2) .
- Screw the nut (1) on the screw (2) .
- Tighten down screw (2) .
