51 16 165 Removing and installing/replacing complete center console

Preliminary work needed: 

• Remove left and right SIDE CENTER CONSOLE TRIM PANELS 
• Remove REAR CUP HOLDER 
• Remove DRIVING DYNAMICS CONTROL
• Release and remove the bellows for parking brake lever from the center console

  Only for version with center armrest: 

• Remove CENTER ARMREST 

  With controller version only: 

• Remove CONTROLLER

Removal: 

Unscrew the screws (1).

Additionally for version with center armrest: 

Remove screw (2).

Additionally for version with controller: 

Release screw (3) and take out connector (4).

Release left and right screws (1).

Raise center console (1) at the rear and take out selector lever or gearshift lever (2) and bellows (3).

Remove center console (1) to the rear/top.

Installation: 

Feed in center console (1).

Tighten screws (1) on left and right.

Tightening torque 51 16 1AZ .

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 16 6AZ .

Additionally for version with center armrest: 

Tighten screw (2).

Tightening torque 51 16 6AZ .

Additionally for version with controller: 

Connect the connector (4) and tighten the screw (3).

Tightening torque 51 16 6AZ .

Required reworking: 

• Install left and right SIDE CENTER CONSOLE TRIM PANEL 
• Install REAR CUP HOLDER 
• Install DRIVING DYNAMICS CONTROL
• Install bellows for parking brake lever

  Only for version with center armrest: 

• Install CENTER ARMREST 

  With controller version only: 

• Install CONTROLLER
