Removing and installing control unit for camera-based driver support systems (KAFAS) (Cooper Convertible)

Attention!

Read and comply with NOTES on protection against electrostatic damage (ESD protection).

Preliminary work needed:

Clamp off BATTERY EARTH LEAD from negative connection point
Remove right GLOVE COMPARTMENT .

Removal:

Release detent on equipment holder.

Feed out KAFAS control unit (1) from equipment holder (2).

Unlock connector (1) on KAFAS control unit (2) and disconnect.

Installation:

Connect connector (1) to KAFAS control unit (2).

Join KAFAS control unit (1) in equipment holder (2).

NOTE: Ensure detent of KAFAS control unit (1) is correct in equipment holder (2).

Required follow-up work:

Install right GLOVE COMPARTMENT .
Connect BATTERY EARTH LEAD negative terminal
