Replacing the battery ground lead (Cooper Convertible)

Preliminary work needed:
- Remove the BATTERY COVER .
Removal:
Release expanding rivet.
Remove the mounting for the gasket (1).
Loosen nut (1).
Unlock and disconnect connector (3).
Remove battery ground lead (2) from the vehicle battery.
Slacken nut (1).
Remove the battery ground lead (2).
Installation:
Join battery ground lead (2).
Tighten nut (1).
Tightening torque 61 21 2AZ .
Join battery ground lead (2) on the vehicle battery.
Tighten nut (1).
Tightening torque 61 21 1AZ .
Connect connector (3).
Join mounting for gasket (1) and secure with expanding rivet.
Required reworking:
- Install the BATTERY COVER .
