Removing and installing or replacing clutch slave cylinder (Cooper)

Preliminary work needed:
- Remove front UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Remove THRUST FIELD
Removal:
IMPORTANT:
If possible, do not shift the piston rod of the clutch slave cylinder.
A movement of the piston rod caused by the removal procedure will lead to a slight leakage of fluid. This leakage of fluid does not mean that the clutch slave cylinder is damaged.
Replacement therefore not necessary!

Draw off brake fluid until level is below connection (2) to clutch master cylinder.
Release screws (1) of clutch slave cylinder.
Remove clutch slave cylinder (2).
Release line connection (3) and disconnect line (4).
IMPORTANT:
Collect the leakage brake fluid in a suitable collecting vessel.
Installation:
Clean synchronizing key (1) and contact surface on release lever (2).
Lightly grease synchronizing key (1) on contact surface (3).
Grease:
Lubricant MI-Setral-43 N, BMW part number 83 23 2 152 082
Install line connection (3) with line (4).
Install clutch slave cylinder (2).
Parts: Replace screws (1).
Tighten down screws (1) of clutch slave cylinder.
Tightening torque 21 52 1AZ .
NOTE:
After completing work vent CLUTCH HYDRAULIC SYSTEM .
Required follow-up work:
- Install THRUST FIELD
- Install front UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
