Removing and installing (replacing) central instrument (Cooper)

Special tools required: 

• 00 9 327

Preliminary work needed: 

• Remove DASHBOARD COVER .
• Remove center right FRESH AIR GRILLE and/or center left FRESH AIR GRILLE .

Removal: 

Unscrew the screws (1).

Unclip and remove cover (1) upwards with special tool 00 9 327.

Unlock locking mechanism (1) with screwdriver in arrow direction and at the same time pull central instrument towards passenger compartment.

Unlock plug connections (1) and disconnect.

Remove central instrument (2).

Replacement: 

• Remount the SWITCH for the hazard warning lights system.
• Remount the RADIO CONTROL PANEL .

Installation: 

Join plug connections (1) to central instrument (2) and lock.

Press on central instrument at top on dashboard and engage.

Tighten down screws (1).

Engage cover (1) correctly in dashboard (2).

Required reworking: 

• Install DASHBOARD COVER .
• Install center right FRESH AIR GRILLE and/or center left FRESH AIR GRILLE

Replacement: 

Up to build date 11/2014: Carry out PROGRAMMING/CODING .
