51 44 013 Removing and installing (replacing) headlining (with panorama glass roof)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove the FRONT PASSENGER DOOR
Remove TRIM PANEL FOR ROOF PILLAR at front (A-pillar) left/right
Remove all SUN VISORS AND COUNTER-SUPPORTS
Remove ROOF OPERATING FACILITY
Remove INSIDE MIRROR
Remove the FRONT/REAR HEADLINING TRIM
Remove the HANDLE for the selector lever and/or GEARSHIFT LEVER KNOB
Remove the front DRINK HOLDER
Remove front/rear grab handles. See REMOVING/INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR GRAB HANDLES and REMOVING/INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT GRAB HANDLE .
Remove INTERIOR ROOF LIGHT
Remove TRIM PANEL FOR ROOF PILLAR at rear (C-pillar) left/right
Remove the SIDE TRIM PANEL on the driver's side
Remove FRONT SEAT on the driver's side
Remove the HEAD RESTRAINT for the front passenger seat.
Release edge protection in area of headlining
Move the gearshift lever to the "R" position and/or move the selector lever completely to the front.
Move the front passenger seat completely back/down.
Fold the passenger's side rear seat down

Release expansion rivet (1).

Lay headlining (2) downwards.

NOTE: Perform the following repair work with a second person to give assistance.

When feeding out the roofliner (1), make sure that they are not kinked.

Dismantling sequence:

Place the roofliner toward the front onto the dashboard
Route the roofliner to the rear and tilt at the same time.
Move the roofliner to the rear until it is placed askew in the vehicle (see illustration)
