52 17 400 Replacing seat cover on left or right front seat (comfort)

Removal of complete seat cushion: 

Remove both seat rails,

refer to 52 17 010 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING BOTH SEAT RAILS ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (COMFORT) 

Remove inside cover,

refer to 52 17 041 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING INSIDE COVER FROM LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (COMFORT) 

Remove cover,

refer to 52 17 040 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING COVER ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (COMFORT) 

Remove backrest,

refer to 52 17 405 REPLACING BACK-REST COVER FOR FRONT SEAT (COMFORT) ON LEFT OR RIGHT SIDES 

Disconnect cover and remove with foam rubber section (support).

Replacement of support: 

Cut through all clips and remove seat cover from support (foam rubber section).

Installation: 

Lock new retainer by bending it with special tool 52 0 050.

Only on leather version:

Installation: 

If necessary, lift foam rubber strips (1) forwards, cut through clips (2) and expose trim thread (3).

Installation: 

If necessary, the ducts which were not used must be sealed with foam rubber strips (1).

Installation: 

At side and front, secure two ends of cover (trim threads) with a clip.

1. Support
2. Clip
3. Trim a thread in support
4. Cover and trim thread
5. Cover and trim thread

Only passenger seat (replacement of support):

Installation: 

Fit new sensor mat.

Mark out points (2) on sensor mat (1) for passenger seat allocation identification on liner and attach to foam rubber.

Guide connector through the bore (3).

Folds as illustrated in diagram are not permitted!

Replacement of sensor mat (only passenger seat): 

Remove sensor mat (1) for passenger seat allocation identification, ensuring that no large areas of foam at damaged marked points (2) (malfunction of passenger seat allocation identification). Guide connector through the bore (3).

Replacement of seat cover: 

Remove trim threads from cover. Cut new cover and insert trim threads.

Only with leather version: trim threads (1) are additional items.
