51 16 040 Removing and installing/replacing housing on left or right exterior mirror

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove retaining ring on exterior mirror . See 51 16 045 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING RETAINING RING ON LEFT OR RIGHT EXTERIOR MIRROR (UP TO 07/13) or 51 16 045 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING RETAINING RING ON LEFT OR RIGHT EXTERIOR MIRROR (FROM 07/13)
Remove protective cap on exterior mirror . See 51 16 041 REMOVING AND REFITTING/REPLACING PROTECTIVE CAP ON LEFT OR RIGHT EXTERIOR MIRROR (WITH SURROUND VIEW) (TO 07/13) or 51 16 041 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING PROTECTIVE CAP ON LEFT OR RIGHT EXTERIOR MIRROR (FROM 07/13)
Remove MIRROR ADJUSTMENT DRIVE

Release screws (1).

If necessary, disconnect the connector (3) from the Top View camera.

Installation note:

Ensure latch mechanism (2) is correctly seated.

Carefully loosen screw holes (1) from exterior mirror (2).

Feed out housing (3) downward.

Catches (1) and screw holes (2) on housing (3) must not be damaged.

For replacement with Top View camera version:

Move TOP VIEW CAMERA

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove RETAINING RING ON EXTERIOR MIRROR

Release screws (1).

Installation note:

Retaining tabs for screws (1) must not be damaged or missing.

Carefully lift up tab (1) and thread out housing (2) from guide (3) in direction of arrow.

If necessary, unlock plug connection (4) from Top View camera and disconnect.

Installation note:

Tab (1) and guide (3) must not be damaged or missing.

For replacement with Top View camera version:

Move TOP VIEW CAMERA .
