63 12 005 Removing and installing/replacing left headlight

Remove front wheel arch cover (front section). Refer to 51 71 040 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT WHEEL ARCH COVER .

Remove bulb holder for parking light. Refer to 63 99 132 Replacing bulb for side marker lamp, front left .

Disconnect plug connections (1).

Unscrew bolt (2).

Release nut (1) up to marking.

Slide unlocking mechanism (2) as far as it will go.

Remove headlamp (3) in direction of arrow.

Installation:

Adjust headlamp. Refer to 63 10 004 Adjusting headlights .

Replacement:

Detach headlamp (1) from headlamp holder (2).

If headlamp holder is damaged:

Remove jet nozzle of headlight cleaning system. Refer to 61 67 045 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SPRAY NOZZLES FOR LEFT OR RIGHT HEADLIGHT CLEANING SYSTEM .

Unclip Bowden cable (1).

Unscrew nuts (2).

Installation:

Replace nuts (2).

Using knurled nuts (3), align headlamp holder (4) to body.

Remove headlamp holder (4) upwards.

Unscrew nuts (1).

Remove retaining fixture (2).
