17 11 000 Removing and installing radiator (S62)

CAUTION: Danger of scalding!
Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.

Drain coolant. Refer to 17 00 005 DRAINING AND ADDING COOLANT (S62)  .

Remove and install coolant expansion tank. Refer to 17 11 100 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING COOLANT EXPANSION TANK (S62)  .

Remove fan cowl. Refer to 17 11 031 REPLACING FAN COWL (S62)  .

Lift out spring (1).

Disconnect water hose (2).

Release left and right screws (3) on radiator.

Remove both brackets (4).

Installation: 

Slide back spring (1).

Water hose (2) must snap audibly into place.

Remove connector (1).

Lift out spring (2).

Disconnect water hose (3).

Installation 

Slide back spring (2).

Water hose (3) must snap audibly into place.

Unscrew screw.

Disconnect hydraulic lines from cooling loop.

NOTE: Catch and dispose of escaping hydraulic fluid.

Installation 

Replace sealing rings.

Check fluid level in power steering fluid tank.

Lift radiator (1) up and out.

Installation 

Note rubber mounts on left and right of radiator.

Installation 

Install rubber mount with radiator on left and right in bracket.
