33 11 271 Replacing rear cover gasket on rear differential

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Draw off/drain differential oil . See 00 11 259 OIL CHANGE IN REAR DIFFERENTIAL INCL. USED OIL DISPOSAL .
Remove rear differential

NOTE: Read and comply with Rear differential: Assignment to model series .

Select rear differential:

168L
188L / 188LW
215L / 215LW
215 with lock

After installation:

Add rear differential oil See 00 11 ... CHECKING/TOPPING UP OIL LEVEL IN REAR DIFFERENTIAL (M3) .
