	Remove
1	Remove center and rear lower engine compartment lining.		AR61.20-P-1105FR
2	Unscrew drain screw from front axle differential (1) and drain hypoid gear oil.	Model 257 with engine 256 with transmission 725.0 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)
		Model 257 with engine 256 with transmission 725.0 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) With VAG 160	AR33.25-P-0300-01LWX
3	Remove right front axle shaft.		AR33.30-P-0620MSA
4	Pull radial shaft sealing ring (2) out of front axle differential (1) using internal extractor, pull-off device and impact extractor.	Connect the internal extractor and impact extractor to the threaded rod of the extraction tool.

5	Check seat of radial shaft sealing ring (2) for damage.	If damage is found, ↓ replace front axle differential (1).	AR33.30-P-0525MSA
	Install
6	Install radial shaft sealing ring (2) using drift.	Replace radial shaft sealing ring (2).
		With VAG 160 Drift set	Fig 3
		With VAG 175 Drift	Fig 4
7	Moisten sealing lip of radial shaft sealing ring (2) with transmission oil.
	Universal hypoid gear oils (specification 235.7)		BB00.40-P-0235-07A
8	Tighten drain screw.	Model 257 with engine 256 with transmission 725.0 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) With VAG 175 Replace drain screw.
		Front axle transmission drain screw	*BA33.30-P-1008-03G
9	Add hypoid gear oil to front axle differential (1) through opening of front axle shaft.	Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray	*BR00.45-Z-1046-04A

10	Install right front axle shaft.		AR33.30-P-0620MSA
11	Check front axle differential (1) for leak tightness and proper operation.
12	Install center and rear lower engine compartment lining.		AR61.20-P-1105FR
