REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove corresponding front wheel.   AR40.10-P-1102A
2 Reduce pneumatic pressure of suspension struts (2) using diagnostic system.    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS    
NOTES
The complete wheels must not touch the ground.
Otherwise the suspension struts (2) can be damaged and subsequently malfunction.

3 Empty hydraulic lines (4) of electrohydraulic suspension using guided diagnosis NOTES
The complete wheels must not touch the ground.
Otherwise the suspension struts (2) can be damaged and subsequently malfunction.
IMPORTANT It is essential for the shutoff valves on the suspension strut (2) to be closed

4 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).    
5 Remove cover over suspension strut (2) at top.    
6 Detach pressure line (1) from suspension strut (2) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. IMPORTANT Do not crush or kink the pressure line (1) and do not subject it to tension. This will cause damage to the pressure line (1) and can impair its function.
IMPORTANT Clean the area around the pressure line connections before beginning repair work. Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Pressure line to front suspension strut/valve

    SPECIAL TOOL Socket wrench bit Fig 2
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 6
7 Remove nuts (3). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, suspension strut at front to body *BA32.25-P-1001-04O 
8 Clean connections of hydraulic lines (4). IMPORTANT Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents.  
9 Remove hydraulic lines (4) from suspension strut (2) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace sealing rings.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, hydraulic line to suspension strut

10 Disconnect electrical connectors (5).    
11 Open holder (6) and expose electric lines (7).    
12 Open holder (8) and unhook brake hose (9).    
13 Secure steering knuckle (11) to prevent it from folding down.    
14 Remove upper transverse control arm (12) from steering knuckle (11). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 223
with code 490 (Electrohydraulic suspension) except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)
Nut, steering knuckle to transverse control arm

15 Remove suspension strut (2) from spring link (13). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, suspension strut at front to spring control arm *BA32.25-P-1002-04O 
16 Remove suspension strut (2).    
INSPECT Check     
17 Check suspension strut (2) for damage.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE   If there is a problem,

Replace suspension strut (2).

18 Check pressure line (1) for damage. If there is a problem,

repair pressure line connection.

19 Install in the reverse order.
