	Remove/install
1	Remove screw, rear axle shaft to wheel bearing.	Model 118, 177, 243, 247 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) with code U55 (Multi-link axle) : Replace bolt.
		Bolt, rear axle shaft to wheel bearing	*BA35.30-P-1001-01P
2	Remove left rear or right rear brake disk and fasten left or right brake caliper to vehicle free of tension.		AR42.10-P-0220MFA
		Do not twist the brake hose, and make sure that it is routed correctly. This will result in damage to the brake hose and can impair its function. Do not stretch, crush or kink the brake hose. This will result in damage to the brake hose and can impair its function. Do not disconnect the brake hose from the brake caliper.
3	Unclip cover (16) from spring link (15) and remove.	: Make sure that the cover (16 is seated correctly.
4	Remove left rear axle rpm sensor (L6/3) or right rear axle rpm sensor (L6/4).		AR42.30-P-0716MFA
5	Unclip electrical wiring harness with bracket (2) from wheel carrier (1) using a suitable tool and place to one side.	Do not stretch, crush or kink the wiring harness. This will result in damage to the wiring harness and can impair its function.
6	Remove rear axle shaft flange.		AR35.20-P-0130MFA
	Check
7	Check brake cover plate (17) for damage.	If the brake cover plate (17) is damaged, ↓ Replace brake cover plate (17).
8	Remove nut (3), pull-out screw (4) and remove camber strut (5) from wheel carrier (1).	Self-locking nut, camber strut to wheel carrier	*BA35.20-P-1002-02I
9	Remove nuts (6, 9), pull-out screws (7) and remove trailing arm (8) from wheel carrier (1).	Model 118, 177, 247 with code U55 (Multi-link axle) Nut, torsion bar linkage to wheel carrier	*BA32.35-P-1003-03A
		Bolt, trailing arm to wheel carrier	*BA35.15-P-1001-02H
10	Remove nut (10), pull-out screw (11) and remove tie rod (12) from wheel carrier (1).	Nut, tie rod to wheel carrier	*BA35.20-P-1002-04N
11	Remove nut (13), pull-out screw (14) and remove lower spring link (15) from wheel carrier (1).	Self-locking nut, spring control arm to wheel carrier	*BA35.20-P-1002-01D
12	Install in the reverse order.
	Wheel alignment check
13	Perform chassis alignment.		AR40.20-P-0200MFA
