	Remove
1	Remove brakepads.	Rear axle brake linings	AR42.10-P-1710MFA

2	Unscrew screws from brake caliper support and remove brake caliper support.	Model 118 (except 118.351/353/354/651/653/654), 177 (except 177.051/053/054/151/951), 243, 247 (except 247.651/751/753/754)
3	Unscrew safety screw (2) and remove brake disk (1).
	Check
4	Check brake disk (1) for wear and condition.	Model 243, 247	AR42.10-P-0120MFB

		Model 118 Only sets of brake disks (1) approved by Mercedes-Benz may be installed. If damage or too much wear is detected. ↓ Replace brake disks (1) in sets.	AR42.10-P-0120MFC
	Install
5	Clean contact surface and interference fit of brake disk (1) on wheel bearing housing.	Do not use sharp-edged or pointed objects. Otherwise, the contact surface and interference fit will be damaged.

6	Lightly grease interference fit of brake disk (1)	Paste, hot lubrication 1 kg, DBL 6879.20	*BR00.45-Z-1005-06A
7	Fit brake disk (1) and tighten safety screw (2).	Safety screw, brake disk on rear axle to wheel bearing	*BA42.10-P-1003-06K

	Concluding tasks
	Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work.	Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.	AS42.50-Z-0002-01A
10	Operate brake pedal several times until the brakepads make contact with the brake disks (1).	Firm resistance must be felt when the brake pedal is depressed.
	Risk of death  caused by limbs being caught or crushed by rotating parts when performing tests on the brake test stand	Never leave the vehicle unattended on the rollers except in an emergency. Ensure that no one is under the vehicle or near rotating parts during testing. In case of emergency, use the EMERGENCY OFF switch to shut down test stand.	AS42.00-Z-0001-01A
11	Perform brake test on test stand.
