Modification notes
| 17.05.2019 | Bolt, brake hose to floating brake caliper on front axle/rear axle | Model 463 as of model year 2019 | BA42.10-P-1012-04B |
| Risk of accident when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work. | Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system. | AS42.50-Z-0002-01A | |
| Risk of injury. Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. | Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. | AS00.00-Z-0002-01A | |
| Risk of poisoning from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury from skin and eye contact with brake fluid | Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. | AS42.50-Z-0001-01A | |

| Remove | |||
| 1 | Move brake pads of rear axle into assembly position. | AR42.10-P-1710-01LWE | |
Do not depress the service brake while "Move to assembly position" is shown. Otherwise the spindle in the brake caliper (9) will be damaged. |
|||
| 2 | Open hood. | AR88.40-P-1000XG | |
| 3 | Clean area around cap of brake fluid expansion reservoir. | Assembly cleaner | *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A |
| 4 | Unscrew cap of brake fluid expansion reservoir and extract some brake fluid. | ||
| 5 | Detach left or the right rear wheel. | AR40.10-P-1102XG | |
| 6 | Disconnect right rear brake pad wear sensor (S10/4) from coupling housing (1). | When removing the brake caliper (9) on the right side of the vehicle. | |
| 7 | Remove screw (2) on coupling housing (1). | When removing the brake caliper (9) on the right side of the vehicle. | |
| 8 | Remove coupling housing (1) together with electrical line and place to one side. | When removing the brake caliper (9) on the right side of the vehicle. | |
| 9 | Disconnect electrical connector (3) at left electric parking brake actuator motor (M76/1) or right electric parking brake actuator motor (M76/2). | ||
| 10 | Unscrew banjo bolt (4) and hang brake hose (5) to one side. | When replacing the brake caliper (9). | |
Seal openings in brake caliper (9) and brake hose (5) immediately. Otherwise escaping brake fluid will cause damage to adjacent components and it will not be possible to bleed the brake caliper (9). |
|||
| Fig 2 | |||
| 11 | Remove screws (6) from guide pins (7). | ||
| 12 | Remove brake caliper (9) from brake caliper support (8). | When replacing the brake caliper (9). | |
| 13 | Remove brake caliper (9) from brake carrier (8) and secure free of stress in the wheel arch. | With the brake hose connected. | |
| 14 | Detach left electric parking brake actuator motor (M76/1) or right electric parking brake actuator motor (M76/2) from brake caliper (9). | When replacing the brake caliper (9). | AR42.20-P-0600XG |
