	Remove/install
1	Secure vehicle on vehicle lift		AR00.60-P-1002LWG
2	Remove rear axle spring	Model 205.386/387/486/487 except code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension)	AR32.20-P-0230LW
3	Remove shock absorber (2)		AR32.25-P-0110LW
4	Operate electric parking brake and unscrew nut (3) from rear axle shaft (4)	: Replace nut (3) and double-lock it.
		Nut, rear axle shaft to wheel bearing	*BA35.30-P-1001-01N
5	Remove brake disk (5)		AR42.10-P-0220EWE
6	Remove bracket (6) with left rear axle rpm sensor (L6/3) or right rear axle rpm sensor (L6/4) from wheel carrier (1) and place with connected lines to one side	Bolt, rpm sensor to wheel carrier	*BA42.30-P-1001-02K
7	Unhook electrical line of electric parking brake from bracket on wheel carrier (1)
8	Unhook electrical line of shock absorber (2) from bracket on wheel carrier (1)	If electrically adjustable shock absorbers (2) are installed.
9	Detach thrust arm (7) from wheel carrier (1)	The screwdriver bit is to be used when a bolt with multi-point socket profile is installed.

10	Remove spring link (8) from wheel carrier (1)	The screwdriver bit is to be used when a bolt with multi-point socket profile is installed.

15	Remove wheel carrier (1) from rear axle shaft (4)	If the rear axle shaft (4) is firmly seated in the rear axle shaft flange. ↓ Detach rear axle shaft (4) from rear axle shaft flange.

16	Press new rear axle shaft flange into angular contact ball bearing up to end stop	When replacing the wheel carrier (1).
		The new wheel carrier (1) is supplied with angular contact ball bearings only. The angular contact ball bearing does not need to be removed from the new wheel carrier (1).	AR35.20-P-0130LW
17	Detach brake cover plate (13) from wheel carrier (1)	When replacing the wheel carrier (1).
