Remove/Install Engine Oil Pan - AR01.45-P-7500MRI

WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Do not fill Engine oil into beverage containers.

2 Reduce pressure of air suspension. Engine 264 in model 205

3 Deactivate easy entry and exit feature. Engine 264 in model 205, 253
with code 275 (Driver's seat, electrically adjustable with memory function)
except code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)
 
4 Turn steering wheel to center position (front wheels in straight-ahead position) and fix in place using holding device. NOTES
Do not turn steering wheel with steering coupling removed.
Otherwise the clock spring contact will be destroyed.

5 Discharge air conditioning system.   AR83.30-P-1760LW
6 Drain off coolant.   AR20.00-P-1142MRI
7 Remove drain screw from oil pan (1) and catch Engine oil in a suitable container.    
Notice  Notes on Engine oil and filter changes INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace sealing ring. AH18.00-P-0104-01A
    FLUID SPECIFICATION Engine oil *BF18.00-P-1001-01GA 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Drain screw to oil pan *BA01.45-P-1002-01ZA

8 Remove the exhaust system clamp from the catalytic converter.   AR49.10-P-7142MRI
9 Remove wiper arms. Engine 264 in model 205

10 Install Engine support fixture and slightly lift engine. NOTES
Do not subject the Engine mounts to tension.
The Engine mount can get damaged otherwise.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Do not install upper Engine cover until after the leak test.

11 Remove the Engine carriers from the Engine mounts.   AR22.10-P-4330LWA
12 Remove front axle with Engine mounts.   AR33.10-P-0100LW
13 Remove coolant lines from oil cooler at oil pan (1). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, coolant line to crankcase/cylinder head/oil pan *BA20.20-P-1001-02B 
14 Unclip the electrical line at the oil pan (1).    
15 Remove screws/bolts of transmission from oil pan (1). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, transmission to engine *BA27.10-P-1001-04H 
16 Remove electric coolant pump (M75/11).   AR20.10-P-1271MRI
17 Remove the bracket (3). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, bracket for charge air cooler to timing case/oil pan *BA09.41-P-1002-03F 
18 Remove oil pan bottom section. Engine 264 in model 205

19 Remove screws (2) in reverse numerical order to tightening procedure. Oil pan tightening procedure
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Pay attention to different lengths of screws.
Observe tightening sequence.

    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, oil pan to crankcase/timing case cover *BA01.45-P-1001-01ZA 
20 Cut two M6 threads (arrows) and release oil pan (1) from crankcase by screwing in a suitable screw.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 00 84 00 Heat gun IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
Thread cutters
REMOVAL IMPORTANT If necessary, heat the oil pan (1) in the area around the sealing surfaces using a heat gun.

21 If necessary, further release oil pan (1) from crankcase and remove downward.

REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 00 84 00 Heat gun NOTES
Do not drive in tools between crankcase and oil pan (1) for loosening purposes.
Otherwise, damage to the sealing surfaces can occur.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Apply sealant to sealing surface of oil pan (1) and, in doing so, observe notes on sealant path on the oil pan (1).

CLEAN Clean     
22 Clean sealing surfaces on the oil pan (1) and crankcase. NOTES
Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper.
Sealing surfaces will otherwise be damaged.

    Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray *BR00.45-Z-1046-04A 
23 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
24 Check Engine oil level and correct if necessary.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP18.00-P-1812MKI
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when Engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the Engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
25 Perform Engine test run. While doing so, check Engine for proper operation and leak tightness.    
26 Perform wheel alignment measurement.   AR40.20-P-0200LW
