Remove/Install Bottom Part Of Engine Oil Pan - AR01.45-P-7555MRJ

CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of Engine oil. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing Engine oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill Engine oil into beverage containers.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove lower Engine compartment lining. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Only install Engine compartment paneling below after leak test. AR61.20-P-1105LW
2 Release and disconnect electrical connector from the Engine oil fill level sensor (B40/6).   AR18.40-P-5116MRI
3 Remove drain screw (1) from the oil pan bottom section (10) and collect Engine oil in a suitable container.    
Notice  Notes on Engine oil and filter changes INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace sealing ring. AH18.00-P-0104-01A
    FLUID SPECIFICATION Engine oil *BF18.00-P-1001-01GA 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Drain screw to oil pan *BA01.45-P-1002-01ZA 
4.1 Remove screws (11) of the oil pan bottom section (10) contrary to the numerical sequence. Engine 264 in model 253
Oil pan bottom section tightening procedure
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Observe tightening sequence.

    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, oil pan bottom section to oil pan top section *BA01.45-P-1003-01ZA 
4.2 Remove screws (11) of the oil pan bottom section (10). Engine 264 in model 205
with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, oil pan bottom section to oil pan top section
*BA01.45-P-1003-01ZA 
5 Release oil pan bottom section (10) from oil pan (2) and remove downward.    
  Notes on sealant path for oil pan   AH01.45-P-0001-01MMA
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 00 84 00 Heat gun NOTES
Do not drive any tools between oil pan bottom section (2) and oil pan bottom section (10) to loosen them.
Otherwise, damage to the sealing surfaces can occur.
IMPORTANT If necessary, heat the oil pan bottom section (10) in the area of the sealing surfaces using a heat gun.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Apply sealing compound to the sealing surface of the oil pan bottom section (10).

    SPECIAL TOOL Application gun Fig 2
6 Transfer Engine oil fill level sensor (B40/6). When replacing oil pan bottom section (10). AR18.40-P-5116MRI
CLEAN Clean     
7 Clean sealing surfaces on oil pan (2) and oil pan bottom section (10). NOTES Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper.
Sealing surfaces will otherwise be damaged.

    Loctite 7200 *BR00.45-Z-1038-04A 
    Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray *BR00.45-Z-1046-04A 
8 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
9 Check and correct Engine oil level.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP18.00-P-1812MKI
WARNING Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the danger zone. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when Engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the Engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
10 Perform Engine test run. While doing so, check Engine for proper operation and leak tightness.
