4 Clean area surrounding pinion housing (2) on front axle differential (1). Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray *BR00.45-Z-1046-04A 
5 Pull pinion housing (2) out of front axle differential (1).   AR33.30-P-0469-01SYZ 
    SPECIAL TOOL Impact extractor Fig 3

INSTALLING Install     
6 Clean thread of drain screw in housing of front axle differential (1). Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray *BR00.45-Z-1046-04A 
7 Screw drain screw into front axle differential (1). IMPORTANT Replace seal.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Front axle transmission drain screw *BA33.30-P-1008-03G 
8 Fill front axle differential (1) with hypoid gear oil through housing opening of pinion housing (2). FLUID SPECIFICATION Model 216.386/394 with transmission 722.96
Model 221.08/094/18/194 with transmission 722.96Hypoid gear oil		 *BF33.30-P-1001-03C 
    Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray *BR00.45-Z-1046-04A

9 Insert pinion housing (2) into front axle differential (1). NOTES Insert pinion housing (2) into front axle differential (1) with utmost care.
Otherwise the sealing ring (2d) will be damaged.
IMPORTANT Replace sealing ring (2d) and moisten new sealing ring (2d) with Vaseline.
To maintain the flow of oil in the pinion housing (2), the milled area (f) must face upwards.

NOTES Observe tightening torque.
Otherwise there will be noise development and vibrations in the front axle transmission (1).
IMPORTANT Install bottom section of soundproofing or center and rear lower engine compartment lining only after the leak test.		 AR41.10-P-0070OLC
INSPECT Check     
12 Check front axle differential (1) for leak tightness and proper operation.    
13.1 Install center and rear lower engine compartment lining. Model 204.08, 212.08/28 with engine 272 with transmission 722.96
