	Remove/install
1	Remove oil pan.	Engine 264 in model 205, 253 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)	AR01.45-P-7500MRJ

2	Remove screws (1) and remove oil suction pipe (2).	The number of screws (1) varies depending on the vehicle equipment.
		Bolt, oil suction pipe to pipe flange/bracket	*BA18.10-P-1003-01W
3	Release and disconnect electrical connection (3).
4	Secure oil pump (4) against falling down and unscrew screws (5a to 5c) contrary to alphanumeric sequence.	Tighten screws (5a to 5c) slightly by hand first of all, and then tighten them in an alphanumeric sequence.

5	Press clamping device for oil pump chain back, remove oil pump chain from oil pump gear, and remove oil pump (4). Specified engine oils (service) - Overview
			BB00.40-P-0223-02A
		Fill oil pump (4) with engine oil before installation. Engine damage can occur otherwise. Replace seal.
	Check
6	Check oil pump gear for unobstructed movement and damage.	If the oil pump gear jams or is damaged, ↓ Replace oil pump (4).
7	Check clamping device for oil pump chain for damage.	If damage is present on the clamping device, ↓ Replace clamping device.

8	Install in the reverse order.
