Model 205, 253 

Theft protection and locking, general 

The theft protection and locking function description comprises the following functions described in separate documents:

• Central locking (CL [ZV]), function 
• Digital key in smartphone, function (with code 896 (Vehicle access and drive authorization via mobile phone)) 
• Trunk lid control, function (Model 205.0/1/3 with CODE 881 (Remote trunk closing)) 
• Liftgate control, function (Model 205.2, 253 with CODE 890 (EASY-PACK liftgate)) 
• KEYLESS-GO function (Model 205 up to May 31, 2018 or Model 253 (except Model 253.99) up to May 31, 2019 with code 889 (KEYLESS-GO) or code 893 (KEYLESS-GO start function) or Model 205 as of June 1, 2018, Model 253 (except Model 253.99) as of June 1, 2019 or Model 253.99) 
• Drive authorization system level 4 (DAS [FBS] 4), function 
• Convenience feature CF [KFB], function (with CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO) or except CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO) and except CODE 494 (USA version)) 
• Antitheft alarm system (ATA) function (with CODE 551 (Antitheft alarm system (ATA))) 

If transport mode has been activated, the unlocking of the front passenger door, the rear doors, and the trunk lid or the liftgate via the CL [ZV] or the trunk lid control (Model 205.0/1/3 with CODE 881 (Remote trunk closing)) or the liftgate control (Model 205.2, 253 with CODE 890 (EASY-PACK liftgate)) and the opening of the panoramic sliding sunroof (with CODE 413 (Panoramic sliding sunroof)) or the sliding roof (with CODE 414 (Sliding roof)) is not permitted by the energy management.

CL function 

The CL [ZV] controls the electrical locking and unlocking of the vehicle doors, the trunk lid or the liftgate and the fuel filler flap.

Digital key in smartphone, function (with code 896 (Vehicle access and drive authorization via mobile phone)) 

The CL can be operated with the mobile phone and the vehicle started. The mobile phone is a replacement for the transmitter key (A8/1).

Trunk lid control, function (Model 205.0/1/3 with CODE 881 (Remote trunk closing)) 

The trunk lid can be opened and closed automatically from the inside or outside via the trunk lid control.

Liftgate control, function (Model 205.2, 253 with CODE 890 (EASY-PACK liftgate)) 

The liftgate can be opened or closed automatically from inside and outside via the liftgate control.

KEYLESS-GO function (Model 205 up to May 31, 2018 or Model 253 (except Model 253.99) up to May 31, 2019 with code 889 (KEYLESS-GO) or code 893 (KEYLESS-GO start function) or Model 205 as of June 1, 2018, Model 253 (except Model 253.99) as of June 1, 2019 or Model 253.99) 

The KEYLESS-GO system enables vehicle access (with code 889 (KEYLESS-GO)) and starting the engine without using the transmitter key. It is sufficient to just carry the transmitter key.

Operation of the central locking (CL) via the transmitter key remains possible parallel to the KEYLESS-GO functions.

DAS [FBS] 4, function 

DAS 4 allows the ignition to be switched on and the engine to be started. DAS 4 is a compound system consisting of Control units, each of which calculate and compare the drive authorization code independently. If the check in question is valid, each component is released automatically.

CF [KFB] function (with CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO) or except CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO) and except CODE 494 (USA version)) 

The CF allows central opening and closing of the side windows, the panoramic sliding sunroof (with code (413) Panoramic sliding sunroof) or the sliding roof (with code (414) Sliding roof) via the transmitter key and the air recirculation mode button (N58/1s4).

Antitheft alarm system function (with CODE 551 (Antitheft alarm system (ATA))) 

The ATA [EDW] monitors all relevant inputs after locking the vehicle. If a change of status is detected at one of the monitored inputs, an acoustic and visual alarm is output.
