Disassemble/Assemble Transmission Housing - AR27.40-P-0510MFA

CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of transmission oil. Health risk caused by swallowing transmission oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not pour transmission oil into beverage bottles.		 AS00.40-Z-0001-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.		 AS00.00-Z-0017-01A

DISASSEMBLING Disassemble     
1 Disassemble automatic transmission and remove transmission housing (27G) from shaft set.   AR27.10-P-0510MFA
2 Remove parking lock mechanism.   AR27.60-P-0950MFA 
3 Remove absolute pressure valve (56) and spring guide (57) from transmission housing (27G).    
4 Remove primary oil pump (55). IMPORTANT Replace the primary oil pump (55). AR27.10-P-0400MFA
5 Remove radial shaft sealing rings from axle shafts.   AR27.40-P-0211MFA 
6 Remove tapered roller bearing outer race (52L) of differential and take differential spacer ring (52E) out of transmission housing (27G).   AR27.40-P-0510-01MFA 
    Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Internal extractor Fig 1
    SPECIAL TOOL Countersupport Fig 2
7 Remove shaft package retaining rings (3).    
8 Remove dowel pins (5) from transmission housing (27G). Only if transmission housing (27G) is to be replaced.  
INSPECT Check     
9 Check absolute pressure valve (56) and spring guide (57) for damage. If absolute pressure valve (56) or spring guide (57) is damaged
↓
replace absolute pressure valve (56) and spring guide (57).		  
10 Check dual clutch oil duct seal (4) for damage. If the dual clutch oil duct seal (4) is damaged
↓
Replace dual clutch oil duct seal (4).		  
ASSEMBLING Assemble     
11 Moisten all parts with transmission oil.    
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Automatic transmission fluids (ATF) (specification 236.22)   BB00.40-P-0236-22A
MEASURING Measure     
12 Measure and adjust preload of differential tapered roller bearings.   AR27.50-P-0570-03MFA 
    Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray *BR00.45-Z-1046-04A 
    Loctite 7200 *BR00.45-Z-1038-04A

13 Install shaft package retaining rings (3). IMPORTANT Replace shaft package retaining rings (3).  
14 Insert differential spacer ring (52E) into transmission housing (27G) and install tapered roller bearing outer race (52L) of differential. IMPORTANT Replace tapered roller bearing outer race (52L) of differential. AR27.40-P-0510-02MFA

15 Install parking lock mechanism.   AR27.60-P-0950MFA 
16 Install primary oil pump (55). IMPORTANT Replace the primary oil pump (55). AR27.10-P-0400MFA
17 Install dowel pins (5) in transmission housing (27G). Only if transmission housing (27G) has been replaced.  
18 Install radial shaft sealing ring of axle shafts.   AR27.40-P-0211MFA 
19 Install absolute pressure valve (56) and spring guide (57) in transmission housing (27G). NOTES The spring guide (57) on the absolute pressure valve (56) must point toward the clutch housing when inserted into the transmission housing (27G).
If the absolute pressure valve (56) is inserted incorrectly, the park pawl will be damaged and will break during commissioning
IMPORTANT Observe installation position of absolute pressure valve (56) and spring guide (57).		  
20 Attach transmission housing (27G) to shaft set and assemble automatic transmission.   AR27.10-P-0510MFA
