1	Move the Vario roof into intermediate position and secure it		AR77.50-P-3000-01W

2	Disconnect battery ground line	In vehicles with code 412 (Vario roof, glass version)	AR54.10-P-0003W
3	Remove trim (2) from Vario roof front section (1)
4	Disconnect electrical connector (3) from MAGIC SKY CONTROL control unit (N53)	In vehicles with code 412 (Vario roof, glass version)
5	Mask connector on electrical connector (3) with warning label	In vehicles with code 412 (Vario roof, glass version) To prevent unauthorized contact with MAGIC SKY CONTROL control unit (N53).

6	Mark the installation positions of electrical and hydraulic lines as well as Bowden cables (4) that have been secured to Vario roof front section (1)

7	Expose all electrical and hydraulic lines that have been attached to Vario roof front section (1)
8	Remove left and right locks from front Vario roof (9)		AR77.33-P-3487W
9	Remove both front latches (5) +		AR77.33-P-3400W
		Stow front latches (5) with attached left Vario roof locked limit switch and right Vario roof locked limit switch in the vehicle interior.
10	Unscrew screws (6) on the left and right vehicle sides, and remove them together with the associated threaded bushings (7)	When unscrewing screws (6), push them in the direction of the vehicle center. Otherwise, screws (6) will damage the side seals on Vario roof front section (1). Note the installation positions of threaded bushings (7). Helper required to hold Vario roof front section (1).

11	Unscrew screws (8) on the left and right vehicle sides, remove Vario roof front section (1) with a helper and place it on a suitable stowage tray	There are two bearing bushings on the screw connection points. Secure these against falling down.
