Definition of 'stop mode'
The term 'stop mode' is used to define the mode in which the opening or closing sequence of the Vario roof is interrupted by releasing the switch.
The stop mode keeps the partially opened Vario roof in this position for approx. 7 min with the ignition switched on. After that, the system is depressurized and the Vario roof collapses, depending on the position. If the ignition is turned off, the Vario roof collapses after approx. 7 s (model 170, model 230) or approx. 15 s (model 171.4, model 172.4).
Risk of injury
caused by pinching or crushing when work is carried out on the partially open Vario roof (in stop mode) or within its closing area without the Vario roof being secured beforehand using a suitable special tool.
Safety precautions/instructions
- Before working on the Vario roof or within its closing area, the Vario roof must be secured using the appropriate special tool.
