	Remove
	Risk of death  when working on component parts and systems with U >= 30 V alternating voltage (AC) or U >= 60 V direct voltage (DC)	Do not touch damaged or defective live component parts and lines or non-insulated electrical connections and lines.	AS00.00-Z-0035-01A

1	Remove trim (2) from Vario roof front section (3)	Vario roof is closed.
2	Actuate Vario roof actuation switch in the open direction until front latches (1) are unlocked and Vario roof front section (3) still makes contact with the crossmember above the windshield.
3	Unclip Bowden cable (4) from left or right front latch (1)
4	Unscrew bolts (5) and remove front latch (1) from Vario roof front section (3) and allow to hang down on the electrical and hydraulic lines	Do not kink hydraulic lines. The hydraulic lines will otherwise be damaged. Mark the installation position of front latch to be removed (1) before it is removed. Note retaining disks (12) on the screw connection points.
5	Unscrew bolt (6) and remove left Vario roof locked limit switch (S69/2) or right Vario roof locked limit switch (S69/3) from front latch (1)	In the case of model 231, remove left and right Vario roof locked limit switch (S69/5) from front latch (1).
6	Remove safety clips (11) and bolts (8, 9)
7	Remove front latch hydraulic cylinder (10) from front latch (1)	Do not press Vario roof actuation switch (S84/s1) if front latch hydraulic cylinder (10) has been removed. Otherwise, front latch hydraulic cylinder (10) will be damaged.
8	Mark the installation position of left or right Bowden cable (4) on thrust bearing (7)
9	Remove Bowden cable (4) from thrust bearing (7)
	Install
10	Install bolts (8) with safety clip (11)	To do so, position front latch hydraulic cylinder (10) in front latch (1).
11	Install bolts (9) with safety clip (11)	To do so, use a suitable screwdriver to position the mount on the piston rod of front latch hydraulic cylinder (10) in front latch (1).
12	Position left Vario roof locked limit switch (S69/2) or right Vario roof locked limit switch (S69/3) on front latch (16) and tighten bolt (6).	In model 231, left and right Vario roof locked limit switch (S69/5).
13	Position front latch (1) on Vario roof front section (3) and screw in the bolts (5)	Install front latch (1) on marking and ensure that retaining disks (12) have been installed. Position bolts (5) only; do not tighten them. They will be tightened later on during the adjustment process.
14	Clip Bowden cable (4) onto front latch (1) and attach it to thrust bearing (7)	Observe installation marking.
15	Check the gap dimension between Vario roof front section (3) and crossmember above windshield; adjust it if necessary	Bolt, latch to front part of Vario roof	*BA77.33-P-1014-01A
		If the gap dimension is correct, tighten bolts (5). Otherwise, adjust the gap dimension. Refer to: ↓ Set the gap dimension between Vario roof front section (3) and the crossmember above the windshield.	AR77.50-P-3035W
16	Set left or right Bowden cable (4) of the lock on the front Vario roof		AR77.33-P-3485W
17	Install trim (2) on Vario roof front section (3)
