	Remove/install
1	Remove upper engine cover.	: Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.

5	Remove drain screw (11) and collect engine oil in a suitable container.

6	Seal oil drain opening on oil pan bottom section (1) with suitable stop plug.	Record plug	Fig 2

8	Unclip noise encapsulation at oil pan (13) and oil pan bottom section (1) and remove in downward direction.
9	Unclip brackets (7) of the electric line (8) of the oil sensor (oil level, temperature, and quality) (B40) on the oil pan bottom section (1) and place the electric line (8) to one side.		AR18.40-P-5116MNL
10	Remove screw of bracket for automatic transmission oil lines on oil pan bottom section (1).		AR27.55-P-0600MNK

11	Remove screw (5).	Bolt, oil line to oil pan/crankcase/engine support	*BA01.45-P-1001-01Y

13	Unscrew screw (4).	Bolt, oil line to oil pan/crankcase/engine support	*BA01.45-P-1001-01Y
14	Remove oil line (3) from crankcase.
15	Place oil line (3) to one side.	: Replace sealing rings of oil line (3).
16	Remove oil sensor (oil level, temperature, and quality) (B40) and collect escaping engine oil in a suitable container.	When replacing the oil pan bottom section (1).

		: Replace sealing ring.
17	Remove screws (2), pry off oil pan bottom section (1) and remove, and collect escaping engine oil in a suitable container.	Oil pan bottom section tightening procedure	AR01.45-P-7500-08MNL

		Do not drive any tools between oil pan bottom section (1) and oil pan (13) to loosen them. The sealing surface will be damaged otherwise. If necessary, heat the oil pan bottom section (1) in the area of the sealing surfaces using a heat gun. Screw in the screw in the dismantling bore to pry off the oil pan bottom section (1).
		: Apply sealant to oil pan bottom section (1). Observe tightening procedure of screws/bolts (2).

18	Remove molded seal of oil duct between oil pan bottom section (1) and oil pan (13).	: Replace molded seal of the oil duct.
19	Clean sealing surfaces on oil pan bottom section (1) and oil pan (13).		AR01.00-P-0050-01A
		Do not use sharp-edged tools. Sealing surfaces will otherwise be damaged.

20	Remove retaining clips (12).	When replacing the oil pan bottom section (1).
21	Remove oil filter cover.	When replacing the oil pan bottom section (1).

		: Install oil filter cover with new oil filter and new sealing ring.
22	Install in the reverse order.
	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
23	Carry out engine test run and check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.
