Perform wheel alignment check - AR40.20-P-0200NKB

MODEL 117, 156, 176, 242, 246 

MEASURING Measure     
1 Drive the vehicle onto the measuring station and secure using the parking brake IMPORTANT The measuring system must be approved by Mercedes-Benz.  
2.1 Move gearshift lever into the "neutral" position Transmission 711.6  
2.2 Move selector lever to position "P" Transmission 724.0  
3 Open window in driver door IMPORTANT Preparations for checking steering lock.  
4 Remove fire extinguisher from driver seat MODEL 117, 156, 176, 242, 246 with CODE 682 (Fire extinguisher)  
5 Switch off ignition    
6 Carry out conditions and tests for chassis alignment   AR40.20-P-0260SX 
7 Unlock turnplates and sliding platforms IMPORTANT Rock vehicle to settle suspension at front and rear to place the vehicle in a ready-to-drive condition.  
8 Check vehicle level at front and rear axle using electronic inclinometer and adjust if necessary   AR40.20-P-0301NKB 
IMPORTANT Depending on the measurement result the vehicle level must be adjusted at the front and rear axle.
9 Using the adapter, install the brake pedal retaining tool between the pedal and the driver seat NOTES Cover up the brake pedal and the front seat. Otherwise the brake pedal or the front seat may be damaged.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION The vehicle must not be loaded again.

10 Attach Mercedes-Benz quick-clamping devices   AR40.20-P-0230SX 
11 Fit on measuring heads IMPORTANT For attaching the measuring heads, see corresponding manufacturer's operating instructions.  
12 Perform initial measurement IMPORTANT For carrying out the initial measurement, see corresponding dimensional check system operating instructions.  
13 Checking rear axle camber According to results of initial measurement.

14 Adjust rear-axle toe According to results of initial measurement.

15 Adjust camber at front axle According to results of initial measurement.

16 Check caster on front axle According to results of initial measurement.

17 Adjust front axle toe According to results of initial measurement.

18 Check toe-out angle According to results of initial measurement.  
AR40.20-P-0325NKB 
19 Perform final measurement IMPORTANT If the vehicle-specified values are not achieved, the operation steps 12 to 18 must be repeated.  
20 Detach measuring heads    
21 Detach Mercedes-Benz quick-clamping devices   AR40.20-P-0230SX 
22 Remove brake pedal jack tool with its adapter SPECIAL TOOL Brake pedal jack Fig 2

23 Install fire extinguisher at driver seat MODEL 117, 156, 176, 242, 246 with CODE 682 (Fire extinguisher)  
24 Lock turntables and sliding platforms    
25 Drive vehicle off measuring system    
26 Check headlamp adjustment and correct if necessary
