Check Condition Of Front Axle And Control Arms - AP33.10-P-3358D

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
WARNING Risk of injury.  Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area of mechanical components when moving components. AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
  Preparatory activity     
1 Lift vehicle on vehicle lift    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR00.60-P-1000RG
INSPECT Check     
2 Check underfloor paneling for evidence of driving over obstacles or damage caused by contact with the vehicle underside If the underfloor paneling is damaged:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
REMOVING Remove     
3 Remove front engine compartment paneling and loosen center engine compartment paneling    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   Model 190 (except 190.381) AR61.20-P-1105RG
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   Model 190.381 AR61.20-P-1105RGB
INSPECT Check     
4 Check wheel bearing by firmly pulling, pushing and turning the wheels If there are complaints:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
5 Check front axle carrier for cracks, deformation and corrosion If there are complaints:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
6 Check lower elastomer bearings (1) of lower wishbone control arms (6) for cracks, deformation and wear and check for play by pulling and pressing firmly If there are complaints:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
7 Check lower supporting ball joint boots (2) for condition, leak tightness and correct seating If there are complaints:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
8 Check lower supporting ball joints (3) for play by pulling and pressing firmly on the lower wishbone control arm (6) If there are complaints:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
9 Check shift rail joint boots (4) for proper condition, leak tightness and correct seating If there are complaints:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
10 Check coupling rod joints (5) for play by firmly pulling and pushing shift rails (11) If there are complaints:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
11 Check upper elastomer bearings (7) of upper wishbone control arms (10) for cracks, deformation and wear and check for play by pulling and pressing firmly If there are complaints:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
12 Check upper supporting ball joint boots (9) for condition, leak tightness and correct seating If there are complaints:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
13 Check upper supporting ball joints (8) for play by pulling and pressing firmly on the upper wishbone control arm (10) If there are complaints:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
INSTALLING Install     
14 Install front engine compartment paneling and secure center engine compartment paneling
