Remove/Install Steering Column Tube - AR46.10-P-0400RG

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
Notice  Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-P-0001-01KOA
1 Detach lower steering shaft of steering column tube (1) from steering coupling   AR46.10-P-8000RG 
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Make sure that the slide ring (7) is correctly seated in the seal bellows of the steering shaft.  
2 Remove steering column tube module   AR54.25-P-2802RG
3 Remove lower paneling for instrument panel (3)   AR68.10-P-1501RQ
4 Cover knee airbag (6) with rags    
5 Disconnect electrical connectors (4) and (5) of steering column adjustment motors (M20/1) and (M20/2)    
6 Remove screws/bolts (2a), (2b), (2c) and (2d) NOTES
Secure the steering column tube (1) to prevent it from falling down.
Otherwise damage may occur.
 
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Screw in the screws/bolts (2a) to (2d) loosely and then tighten to the specified torque in the sequence (2a), (2c), (2b), (2d).  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, jacket tube to cross member *BA46.10-P-1001-03I 
7 Remove steering column tube (1) through steering shaft in direction of arrow INSTALLATION IMPORTANT A second person is required to ensure secure assembly of the steering column tube (1).  
8 Install in the reverse order
