WARNING Risk of injury  due to fan starting unexpectedly Do not reach into the rotation or hazard area of the fan. Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes. AS20.40-Z-0001-01A 
WARNING Risk of injury.  Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Drain off coolant.   AR20.00-P-1142MNJ 
2 Remove upper engine cover.    
3 Remove engine air intake ducts (2). SPECIAL TOOL Dismantling tool Fig 2
4 Remove upper air duct segment (3). SPECIAL TOOL Dismantling tool Fig 2
5 Release and disconnect electrical connector (5) and remove electrical wiring harness (7) from air duct segment.    
6 Remove rear coolant line from air duct segment (10).    
7 Remove air duct segment (10). SPECIAL TOOL Dismantling tool Fig 2
8 Remove coolant lines (8, 11) from cooler and place to one side.   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ 
9 Release bumper in upper area.   AR88.20-P-2000RG
10 Remove crossmember (6). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, center bracket to cross member *BA62.30-P-1003-02N 
    SPECIAL TOOL Dismantling tool Fig 2
11 Remove brackets (4). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, cooler unit to holder *BA20.20-P-1016-01Q 
12 Remove screws of fan unit (9) from cooler unit. TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, cooler unit to holder *BA20.20-P-1016-01Q 
13 Remove fan unit (9). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Ensure fan unit (9) is seated correctly in guides.  
    IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.  
14 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
WARNING Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

15 Perform engine test run and check fan unit (9) for proper operation.
