When performing work in the engine compartment, it is essential to use the front cover for the magnesium radiator cross member (2) in order to protect the top front reinforcement (1).

The surface coating of the top front reinforcement (1) which is made of magnesium can otherwise be damaged.

In the event of damage, repair by means of post-repair refinishing is only permitted down to the magnesium base material. Replace the component in the event of any damage to the magnesium base material.
