| 2 | Clean area around cap on expansion reservoir for brake fluid | ||
| 3 | Unscrew the cap on the brake fluid expansion reservoir and suction off some brake fluid | ||
| 4 | Remove front wheel-and-tire assemblies | AR40.10-P-1100RQ | |
| 5 | Detach electrical connection from brake wear sensor at front right (S10/2x1) | ||
| 6 | Remove bolt (5) and then remove tie rod (4) | *BA42.10-P-1005-10T | |
| 7 | Hammer out retaining pins (2) with punch and remove retaining spring (3) | ||
| 8 | Press back brake piston using resetting device | Fig 1 | |
| If brake pistons are sluggish: ↓ Replace brake caliper (1). |

| 9 | Remove brake pads (6) from brake caliper (1) | Do not apply any brake paste or lubricants to brake pads (6) and brake calipers (1). Malfunctions may occur otherwise |

| 10 | Check condition of brake linings (6) and measure degree of wear | If necessary, replace brake linings. | |
