Remove/Install Left/Right Rear Axle RPM Sensor - AR42.40-P-9807RG

Shown on right side of vehicle 

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Switch off ignition, remove transmitter key if necessary and lay transmitter key down outside of KEYLESS-GO transmission range    
2 Lift vehicle on vehicle lift   AR00.60-P-1000RG
3 Remove complete wheel set at left rear or right rear   AR40.10-P-1100RQ
4 Unscrew nuts (1) and remove fender liner at left or right    
5 Disconnect electrical connector (2)    
6 Branch-off electrical line of RPM sensor on left or right rear axle from wiring harness (3) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Join electrical lines from RPM sensor, electric parking brake and brake wear indicator using adhesive tape.  
7 Unhook electrical line from bracket (4)    
8 Remove bolt (5) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace bolt (5).  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Self-locking bolt, RPM sensor on rear axle to wheel carrier *BA42.30-P-1001-02D 
9 Pull out rear axle RPM sensor (L6/3 or L6/4) and remove together with electrical line from vehicle    
10 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Check     
11 Connect STAR DIAGNOSE and read out fault memory    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04B
