Location
The multicontour seat control unit is located in the backrest frame of the respective seat.
Tasks
The multicontour seat control unit does the following:
- Inflating and deflating the multicontour backrests
- Controlling of the massage function
- Controlling of dynamic function (with code 432 (Left and right dynamic multicontour seat))
- Adjustment of stored pressure values when calling up memory function and storage of contours (with code 275 (Memory package) or code 223 (Electrically adjustable rear bench seat))
- Shutoff of the respective function if the pressure valve responsible has overheated

Read in sensors and signals
The following signals, among others, are read in via interior CAN (CAN B):
- Air cushion adjustment request
- Massage function request
- Request for dynamic function (with code 432 (Left and right dynamic multicontour seat))
- Request for storing/moving to memory position (with code 275 (Memory package) or code 223 (Electrically adjustable rear bench seat))
- PRE-SAFE® adjustment request
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors read in are evaluated by the multicontour seat control unit.
Actuation of components
The air supply for the air cushions in the seat's contour insert occurs through piezo valves integrated in the multicontour seat control unit. The multicontour seat control unit directly actuates the integrated piezo valves internally.

The multicontour seat control unit sends signals over the following connections:
- Massage components LIN (LIN B26)
- Interior CAN

The multicontour seat control unit sends the request for the massage function via the massage components LIN to the following control units:

- Right rear backrest massage function control unit (N32/34)
Interior CAN
The following signals are also sent over the interior CAN:
- Compressed air supply request
- Seat heater request (for the "hot stone" programs)
Variants
There are no hardware variants for the multicontour seat control unit. The assignment to the respective seat and the country or left-hand/right-hand drive vehicle assignment is coded by the software.
