MEASURING Measure     
1 Drive the vehicle onto the measuring station and secure using the parking brake IMPORTANT The measuring system must be approved by Mercedes-Benz.  
2.1 Move gearshift lever into the "neutral" position Model 230.4 with transmission 716  
2.2 Move selector lever to position "P" Model 230.4 with transmission 722
Model 231 with transmission 722
Model 231 with transmission 725
 
3 Switch off easy entry/exit NOTES
Depending on the version, the steering wheel and possibly also the driver's seat move to a different position when, for example, the driver door is opened or closed.
The driver's seat may be damaged when the brake pedal jack is installed.
IMPORTANT Switch off using the buttons on the steering wheel in the "Comfort" menu of the multifunction display, see Owner's Manual.
 
4 Press switch on center console to raise vehicle level and to lower it again Model 230.4

IMPORTANT Raising and lowering the vehicle reduces play in the suspension.
 
5 Set suspension stage to S or S+ Model 230.4

6 Open driver door window IMPORTANT Preparations for checking steering lock.  
7 Switch off ignition    
8 Carry out conditions and tests for chassis alignment   AR40.20-P-0260SX 
9 Unlock turnplates and sliding platforms    
10 Check vehicle level at front and rear axle with electronic inclination meter and adjust, if necessary Model 230.4 AR40.20-P-0301R
    Model 231 AR40.20-P-0301RK 
11 Insert brake pedal jack with adapter for brake pedal jack between the brake pedal and driver seat and close driver door IMPORTANT Protect brake pedal and driver's seat against any damage. The vehicle must not be loaded again.

12 Attach Mercedes-Benz quick-clamping devices   AR40.20-P-0230I 
13 Fit on measuring heads IMPORTANT For information on how to attach the measuring heads, see the corresponding operating instructions from the manufacturer.  
14 Perform initial measurement IMPORTANT For carrying out the initial measurement, see corresponding dimensional check system operating instructions.  
15.1 Checking rear axle camber Model 230.4

IMPORTANT The camber on the rear axle is not adjustable.

24 Lock turntables and sliding platforms    
25 Drive vehicle off measuring system    
26 Inspect headlamp adjustment, correct if necessary
