Pressing Out And Attaching Track Rod Joint At Steering Knuckle - AR46.40-P-0200-02XG

Pushing off 

  1. Unscrew nut (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION from tie rod joint (2).
  2. Pry off tie rod (2) from steering knuckle (3).

    IMPORTANT Removal: Use SPECIAL TOOL puller for prying off tie rod (2) from steering knuckle (3).

    Install 

  3. Clean centering cone and thread on tie rod ball joint (2) and mount on steering knuckle (3).

    NOTES There must be no grease or oil on the centering cone, thread and on the mount. Otherwise, the tie rod ball joint (2) may work its way loose.

  4. Mount self-locking nut (1) onto tie rod ball joint (2).

    IMPORTANT If necessary, counterhold tie rod joint (2) using a suitable tool. Note specified tightening torque.
