	Remove/install
1	Remove brake pads	MODEL 117, 156 (except 156.952), 176 (except 176.052), 242, 246	AR42.10-P-1600NKB

2	Disconnect right front brake wear sensor electrical connector (S10/2x1), remove screw (3) and detach right front brake wear sensor electrical connector (S10/2x1) from brake caliper (2)	When removing the brake caliper (2) on the right side of the vehicle.
		Screw/bolt, brake wear connector to brake caliper	*BA42.10-P-1004-10N
3	Remove brake hose (5)	When replacing the brake caliper (2).

		Seal connections immediately. Otherwise damage can be caused by escaping brake fluid.
		Brake hose to fixed or floating caliper on front axle	*BA42.10-P-1002-04L
		Retaining screw, brake line to brake hose	*BA42.10-P-1001-04L

4	Remove upper bolt (6) and remove brake caliper (2)	MODEL 117 (except 117.352), 156 (except 156.952), 176, 242, 246 Do not kink the brake hose (5) or subject it to tensile loads. To relieve the load on the brake hose (5), fasten the brake caliper (2) to the vehicle free of tension. Otherwise the brake hose (5) will be damaged.
5.1	Unscrew bolts (4) and remove brake caliper support (1)	MODEL 117 (except 117.352), 156 (except 156.952), 176, 242, 246
		Screw/bolt, brake caliper to steering knuckle	*BA42.10-P-1002-10N
5.2	Remove bolts (4) and remove brake caliper (2)	MODEL 117.352, 156.952 Do not kink the brake hose (5) or subject it to tensile loads. To relieve the load on the brake hose (5), fasten the brake caliper (2) to the vehicle free of tension. Otherwise the brake hose (5) will be damaged.
		Screw/bolt, brake caliper to steering knuckle	*BA42.10-P-1002-10N
	Measure
6	Check condition of brake pads and gauge degree of wear
		MODEL 117	AP42.10-P-4252AH
		MODEL 156	AP42.10-P-4252GLA
		MODEL 242	AP42.10-P-4252NKG
		MODEL 246	AP42.10-P-4252NK
		MODEL 176 If there is damage or wear: ↓ Install new brake pads	AP42.10-P-4252KN
7	Check brake disks for condition and measure wear
			AP42.10-P-4258NK
		If there is damage or wear: ↓ Replace brake disks
			AR42.10-P-0220NKB
8	Check brake caliper (2) and dust boot (11) on brake piston for damage	Replace brake caliper (2) if damaged.
9	Check boots (7) for damage and correct seating as well as sliding bolts (8) for ease of movement	Replace brake caliper support (1) if damaged.
10	Press back brake piston using pusher tool (01)	If brake piston is sluggish replace the brake caliper (2).

	Clean
11	Clean contact surfaces of the brake pads on brake caliper (2) and brake caliper support (1) using a rag	In the process do not damage the dust boot (11) on the brake piston. Do not use sharp-edged or pointed objects. Otherwise the brake caliper (2) or the brake caliper support (1) can be damaged.
		Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
12	Install in the reverse order
	Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work.	Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.	AS42.50-Z-0002-01A
13	Press the brake pedal several times until the brake pads contact the brake disks	Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.
14	Check fluid level in brake fluid reservoir, and correct if necessary

15	Carry out brake test on the test stand
