	Remove/install
1	Clean area around cap on expansion reservoir for brake fluid
2	Unscrew the cap on the brake fluid expansion reservoir and suction off some brake fluid	In order to prevent the expansion reservoir overflowing when pressing back the brake pistons.
3	Remove front wheel-and-tire assemblies
			AP40.10-P-4050AK
4	Disconnect right front brake wear sensor (S10/2) from right front brake wear sensor electrical connector (S10/2x1)	When removing brake linings (1) on right side of vehicle.
5	Unscrew lower bolt (5) from sliding bolt (10)	Counterhold sliding bolt (10).
		Screw/bolt, brake caliper to guide pin	*BA42.10-P-1003-10N
6	Open mounting clips (6) and remove front brake hose (4) from bracket (7)
7	Fold brake caliper (3) upwards	Do not tension or kink front brake hose (4). The front brake hose (4) will otherwise be damaged. Secure brake caliper (3) against falling down. Do not detach front brake hose (4). Guide the right front brake wear sensor (S10/2) through the opening of the right brake caliper (3).
8	Remove brake linings (1) from brake caliper support (2)	Only complete sets of brake linings (1) approved by Mercedes-Benz may be installed. Do not apply brake pastes or lubricants to the brake linings (1) and brake calipers (3)!
9	Pull right front brake lining wear sensor (S10/2) out of brake lining (1)	When replacing the brake linings (1) on the right-hand-side of vehicle. Replace the defective right front brake wear sensor (S10/2).
	Measure
10	Check condition of brake linings (1) and measure degree of wear

		If necessary, replace brake linings (1).
11	Check condition of brake disk (11) and gauge degree of wear	If necessary: ↓ Replace brake disk (11)

12	Check brake caliper (3) and dust boot (8) on brake piston for damage	If damage is present: ↓ Replace brake calipers (3) on front axle

13	Check boots (9) for damage and correct seating as well as sliding bolts (10) for ease of movement	If damage is present: ↓ Replace brake caliper support (2) on front axle

14	Press back brake piston using pusher tool (01)	Resetting device If the brake piston is difficult to move: ↓ Replace brake calipers (3) on front axle	Figure

	Clean
15	Clean contact surfaces of brake linings (1) on brake caliper (3) and brake caliper support (2) using rags	In the process do not damage the dust boot (8) on the brake piston. Do not use sharp-edged or pointed objects. Otherwise the brake caliper (3) or the brake caliper support (2) can be damaged.

16	Install in the reverse order
	Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work.	Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.	AS42.50-Z-0002-01A
17	Depress brake pedal several times until brake linings (1) rest against brake disks (11)	Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.
18	Check fluid level in brake fluid reservoir, and correct if necessary

19	Carry out brake test on the test stand
